A retreat within the city.

“Brother is family, it’s warmth and it’s guidance, it’s someone to look after or someone to be looked after by. It’s a friend, it’s a brother in arms, it’s there when no one else is. It’s also colloquial as a term of endearment, respect or friendship in so many cultures. Hermano. Fratello. It’s fraternal. It’s welcoming and inclusive. It’s familiar.”

Carlin Doran, Brother

We took the upstairs of a period building on Wicklow Street because we wanted somewhere quiet. Original features, good light, and enough room between chairs that nobody's working over anybody's shoulder.

Appointments run 30 to 60 minutes. We ask what you actually want before anyone picks anything up, and we tell you honestly when something won't work. There's no membership and no upsell — you come in, we give you a great haircut.

Brother is part of the Flatiron family

Flatiron has been on the first floor of 24b Wicklow Street for years, and earned its reputation as much for being somewhere calm to spend an hour as for the haircuts. Brother is the floor above it — same building, same people behind it, same idea of how a salon should feel.

If you've been coming to Flatiron, you'll recognise it. If you haven't, this is a good place to start.

Fewer chairs, longer appointments.

We could fit more chairs up here and turn appointments around in half the time. We've chosen not to. It means we book up further ahead than most places, and it means the work gets done properly.

A consultation every time.

Even on your twentieth visit. Hair changes, and so does what you want from it.

We'll tell you the truth.

If the photo you've brought in won't work with your hair, we'll say so — and we'll tell you what will.

Services

We wash every head before we cut. Hair sits differently freshly washed and free of product, and it's the best way for us to see how it falls.

Every appointment includes a consultation. Prices vary a little by stylist.

Haircut From €50

Consultation, wash, cut, styling, and a word about what to use at home. Clipper and scissors both, in whatever proportion the hair calls for. Best suited to shorter hair.

Haircut + From €55

For longer hair, or a taper or fade that wants a finer degree of accuracy. Also the one to book if you'd like a proper conversation before anyone picks anything up.

Brother Cut From €65

For restyles, more complicated work, longer hair — or simply to pause and take a moment. Hand-finished, with a hot and cold towel to close. The least hurried appointment we do.

Buzz Cut €40

All over clipper cut, super simple, with a scalp cleanse and towel finish.

Beard Trim €20

Hot towel, line-up, and shaping or blending as needed. Add it to any haircut, just ask on the day.

Not sure which? Book the Haircut +. If it turns out you didn't need the extra time, we'll charge you for the Haircut — and you'll know which one to book next time.

Get a haircut.

We do take walk-ins — but it's just as easy to check the booking system and see what's free, even if it's minutes away. Tuesday to Saturday.

Elevate your craft

Brother is hiring — a qualified stylist/barber, 3+ years' experience. A considered salon in a historic building, a stone's throw from Grafton Street. Real room to grow, with a path to leading a team.

Stylist / Barber

We're looking for a stylist or barber ready to take their craft further, in an elevated environment — someone who has outgrown the standard barbershop scene and wants more from the work.

The role

Full-time, Tuesday to Saturday — though there's flexibility for the right person. You'll work with clients from all walks of life in a calm, considered setting.

This is an employed position: a basic salary plus commission, with specifics discussed with successful applicants. If you're an established stylist with a chair rental proposal in mind, we're open to that conversation too.

There's a genuine path to growth here — in time, to leading a team.

What we're looking for

A qualified stylist/barber with at least three years behind the chair. Confidence across all types of male hair, short and long. Strong scissor-over-comb technique is essential, alongside proficient clipper work.

Fluent English is a must. Much of this job is conversation — the ability to engage with every client appropriately, and with discretion, matters as much as the cut.

We work in and around the fashion industry, so an awareness of it — and the ability to look the part — is expected.

What's on offer

Ongoing education, in-house and through external sources — we invest in people who invest in their craft.

How to apply

Fill in the form below, DM us on Instagram, or write to info@brotherdublin.com. Any approach is confidential and stays between us.

Thank you — that's with us.

We read every one of these ourselves. If it looks like a fit, we'll be in touch within the week.

Introduce yourself

No cover letter needed. Plain sentences tell us more than a template does.

Any approach is confidential and stays between us — nobody hears about it from our end.

Getting here

We're on Wicklow Street between Butlers Coffee and 5th Avenue nail bar, a minute from Grafton Street.

Look for the glass door with our name on it. Press the 2# button on the keypad and we'll let you in promptly. Flatiron is on the first floor — we're the one above.

If you're driving, use one of the car parks nearby — Drury Street has two, one over and one underground, and there's the Brown Thomas car park on Clarendon Street. The area is served by Luas, bus and DART.
